Along with our current accreditation in Vascular Testing by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC), Albuquerque Vein & Laser Institute has been granted the accreditation by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) in Vein Center in the area of Superficial Vascular Treatment and Management. Although the IAC has been accrediting vascular testing facilities since 1991, in 2014 the IAC launched a new program to accredit vein treatment centers performing sclerotherapy, ambulatory phlebectomy, endovenous thermal ablation, and wound care. The accreditation process comprehensively evaluates a facility’s daily operation with quality determined by compliance with the IAC standards. These standards represent the minimum requirements for staff qualification, training, resources, and outcomes that a facility must meet to become accredited, and are based on published guidelines of 11 sponsoring professional medical societies.

There are many factors that contribute to positive patient outcome in the field of vein disease diagnosis, treatment, and management, including the training and experience of the vein specialist, the type of equipment used and the quality assessment metrics each facility is required to measure. IAC provides a “seal of approval” that patients can rely on as an indicator of consistent quality care and dedication to continuous improvement.
