How Does the ClearLift™ Laser Treat Hyperpigmentation and Melasma?

Many factors can cause pigmentation changes in your skin, from acne inflammation to sun damage or even genetics. If you have dark spots or patches on your skin, they can make you feel self-conscious and are often difficult to hide. The ClearLift™ laser is a gentle but effective way to eliminate pigmentation problems for clearer, more even skin.

What is the ClearLift™ Laser?

Lasers are an effective way to address a wide variety of textural and pigmentation issues. Q-Switched Nd: YAG lasers like ClearLift™ are among the most customizable, widely used laser treatments. ClearLift™ is a non-ablative laser, which means it works without causing damage to the skin. Instead, it triggers cells deep in your skin to undergo a rejuvenation process and produce more collagen.

How Does the ClearLift™ Laser Treat Hyperpigmentation and Melasma?

Melasma and other forms of hyperpigmentation occur in areas where clusters of pigment-producing cells have become more active in your skin. These cells produce a brown pigment called melanin that causes patches of skin to darken. These patches can be small, like freckles, or cover large areas of the face, like melasma.

ClearLift™ targets hyperpigmentation by stimulating cell turnover that replaces hyperpigmented and damaged cells with fresh, healthy ones. Brown patches, spots, and sun damage will fade over time as the overproducing pigment cells are replaced, revealing smooth, clear skin. ClearLift™ also treats textural issues such as acne scarring and fine lines.

Is There Any Downtime After ClearLift™ Laser Treatment?

Since the ClearLift™ laser does not cause any surface damage to your skin, there is no downtime, and you can return to your usual activities immediately. You can return to work after your treatment without any redness or irritation. ClearLift™ is a true “lunchtime treatment” that can fit into the busiest schedules with little to no interruption.

What Results Will I See After ClearLift™ Laser Treatment?

You may notice that your skin looks brighter and more even within a few days of your ClearLift™ laser treatment. However, most people will need three to five sessions to achieve their best results. Results will continue to develop for several weeks after your last treatment as pigmentation fades and new collagen firms your skin.

Wearing sun protection, avoiding excessive sun exposure, and using skincare products that decrease pigment production will help maintain your results. However, people who have developed melasma during pregnancy can be prone to developing it again with other hormonal changes.

Am I a Good Candidate for ClearLift™ Laser treatment?

Because ClearLift™ is non-invasive and does not damage the skin, almost anyone can benefit from this treatment. Along with treating hyperpigmentation, it is an excellent treatment for many other early signs of aging. Good candidates should have reasonable expectations and understand the risks and benefits of this treatment.
