Though you may return to normal activities, there may be some discomfort and bruising along the vein, which typically dissolves in 1-2 weeks. Exercising can be resumed in 7-10 days. You should also avoid heavy lifting (anything over 20 lbs) so as not to stress and reopen the vein. Varicose vein treatment contracts the vein, so you may feel tightness or pulling along the vein and inflammation is common. Any side effects will continue to diminish over the next several months. This is considered a chronic and progressive disease, and you should make annual follow up appointments.

Meet Dr. Robert Cutchen
In 2009, Dr. Cutchen founded Albuquerque Vein & Laser Institute, a clinic dedicated solely to the diagnosis and treatment of venous disease. His goal was to provide the most advanced diagnostic and treatment options all in the comfort of his office without the need for hospitalization.
