The veins in your legs are under stress as they carry blood against gravity back to your heart. These veins can become damaged, leading to a condition called chronic venous insufficiency. This condition can cause discomfort and other symptoms, making prompt treatment important.
What is Chronic Venous Insufficiency?
As your leg veins move blood, one-way valves keep the flow moving in the right direction. When these valves weaken, blood can pool in the veins, a condition called venous reflux. These damaged varicose veins can contribute to a variety of uncomfortable symptoms. Chronic venous insufficiency does not resolve on its own and requires treatment with a vein specialist such as Dr. Robert Cutchen.
