How Can I Treat Facial and Nose Veins?

Although millions of Americans suffer with spider veins on their legs, some also develop them on their nose or cheeks. Hiding at home or behind a mask may be a temporary solution for those suffering with facial and nose veins, but the VeinWave treatment at Albuquerque Vein & Laser offers a permanent solution for the peskiest and most embarrassing of spider veins!

What Is VeinWave™ Technology?

The VeinWave™ treatment is a gentle and effective, FDA-approved treatment for the tiny red, blue, or purple veins on the face and nose. This procedure involves minimal discomfort and no recovery time. VeinWave™ uses thermocoagulation technology to close up these veins and to allow them to disappear. An ultra-thin, insulated needle is inserted into each of the veins and emits radio frequency energy which sends heat into the wall of the vein. This heat causes each vein to close up and then it gets absorbed by the body.

Typical VeinWave™ treatments last around 20 minutes and are performed in Dr. Cutchen’s office. Most patients require one or two treatments but, the number of treatments will be determined during your consultation based on your own individual needs. Because the treatment times are so short, patients find it extremely easy to schedule them into even the busiest of lifestyles.

When Will I See my Facial Vein Go Away?

Immediately following the procedure, many patients report noticeable improvements in the appearance of their veins. The red, blue, and purple coloring of the veins will begin to fade immediately and will continue fading over the next several days until the closed veins are completely absorbed into the body.

The number of veins that need to be treated will determine the number of necessary treatments, but improvements will be evident after each treatment. Patients will not have bruising, bandaging or scarring from the VeinWave™ treatment. There is no downtime following the treatment, but patients will be asked to avoid the sun for a few days or to use a quality sunscreen when exposed to the sun. With treatment this gentle and effective, there is no need for anyone to suffer silently with unattractive facial veins.

“I could not be happier with the services provided by Dr. Cutchen’s and his entire staff. Everyone treated me with respect and cared for the improvement of my veins and I never felt like “just another number”. Follow up care was great. The office manager is really easy to work with and never caused me any issues. Overall- this is the place to be treated!” *
