Facial Vein Treatment: What to Expect

Visible facial veins can make you feel self-conscious. While spider veins can appear in many places, those on the face often cause the most frustration. Facial vein treatment targets and eliminates these veins for clear skin. Dr. Cutchen and his team offer the most advanced facial vein treatments.

What Causes Facial Veins?

Facial spider veins have many causes. They occur when veins under the skin become stretched, allowing the pigments in the blood to show through the skin. They usually look like threads, webs, or branches. While they often appear around the nose, they may occur anywhere on the face. Factors like genetics, hormones, and medical conditions can contribute to their development.

How are Facial Veins Treated?

Dr. Cutchen offers a range of vein treatments. However, tiny facial veins require a special technique. VeinWave™ targets these facial veins using a process called thermocoagulation. It closes off the targeted veins using radiofrequency energy pulses. While sclerotherapy is usually the preferred treatment for leg veins, VeinWave™ offers an ideal option for small facial veins.

Facial Vein Treatment: What to Expect

Facial vein treatment with VeinWave™ is fast and comfortable. Dr. Cutchen inserts a thin fiber next to the vein, and this fiber emits a pulse of radiofrequency energy. This energy heats and collapses the treated vein with no discomfort. Treatment usually takes 10 to 25 minutes, depending on the number of veins treated.

Is There Any Downtime After VeinWave™ Facial Vein Treatment?

VeinWave™ treatment requires no downtime. Some people may notice minor redness in the treated areas for a day or two. You can return to all your usual activities immediately. VeinWave™ treatment fits into a lunch break, making it convenient and effective.

What Results Will I See With VeinWave™ Facial Vein Treatment?

Most people will see their facial veins resolve with one to two VeinWave™ treatments. Depending on your number of facial veins, you may need a few sessions to address them all. Treated veins start fading immediately, and results improve over the next few days.

While facial vein treatment can eliminate spider veins, new ones can still appear. If the factors that caused your facial veins to expand still exist, you can develop new ones. Fortunately, VeinWave™ offers an easy, no-downtime way to address them if they appear.

Am I a Good Candidate for Facial Vein Removal?

VeinWave™ is safe and effective for almost anyone with facial veins. Good candidates for VeinWave™ have small spider veins on the face. Even if VeinWave™ is not right for you, Dr. Cutchen and his team have several other options for treating facial veins to help you achieve your desired results.
